rixensart,roger de grimberghe

26 octobre 1909 – Part nominative de vingt-cinq francs émis en 1909 par la société coopérative ‘Villa de Convalescence Roger de Grimberghe’.

« RIXENSART/BRUXELLES. Part Nominative de F25. Green, gold, black. No 26. Fold and a faint brown stain. Superb share with goldprinted border and large vignette of a lady helping children/orphans in a scenic coastal area, and a villa in the Ardennes. Also illustrations of boys being taught several skills (printing, woodworking, iron casting, etc.). This was a philantropical initiative by the late count Roger de Grimberghe. It consisting of helping Brussels youth suffering from rachitis (a bone disease) or scrofula by nursing them in a special care centre in Middelkerke (« Hopital de Grimberghe ») and Rixensart (« villa de Convalescence Roger de Grimberghe »). Probably an unique find » (1).
